INTRODUCTION

The Indian Air Force Benevolent Association (IAFBA) is a self administered body
registered under the Societies Registration Act (XXI) 061860. It came into effect
from 22 Nov, 1940. This was first registered at Lahore on 22 Nov, 1940. Subsequently
the same was registered at Delhi on 10 Jun, 1981.

AIM

The aim of the IAFBA is to relieve financial hardship/distress among all
personnel of Indian Air Force both past and present and their dependents under various
welfare schemes.

Over the years Air Force Wives Welfare Association(AFWWA) activities have become an integral part of Air Force way of life. With humble beginning on 28 October 1970, AFWWA, a brain child of Mrs Ela Lal has grown in strength and structure and today AFWWA can take legitimate pride of its multifarious welfare activities. Presently, AFWWA has more than one lac sixty thousand members and it is spread up in almost every part of the country.

Objectives

1. Financial assistance to the widows

2. Financial assistance for the education of children

3. Financial assistance for vocational training of widows and needy members

4. Assistance for general welfare of the family

5. Aid for establishing/improving facilities in Medical Inspection Rooms, Family welfare
Centre and school etc

6. Financial help to other philanthropic and welfare oriented institutions
